Hoop is currently the Head Varsity baseball coach at South Meck High School in Pineville, NC.  Brian also coached at the collegiate level which included stops at Florida State University, Indiana State University, Charleston Southern University and Belmont Abbey College.

 

At Belmont Abbey College, Coach Hoop served as recruiting coordinator and coached the infielders, pitchers, and base runners. Hoop mentored Emilio Pagan to a First-Team All American accolade and eventual 10th round draft pick of the Seattle Mariners. He was the highest pick in school history.

 

Prior to his move to North Carolina, Hoop spent two seasons at Florida State, which was capped off by a memorable run to the 2010 College World Series at historic Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha. He coached in two NCAA Regionals and two NCAA Super Regionals.

 

Hoop came to FSU from Indiana State University where he served as recruiting coordinator and hitting/catching coach for two seasons. He also assisted with base running and defensive instruction during his time with the Sycamore Baseball team. While at Indiana State, the Sycamores raised their team batting average and enjoyed a 40% increase in on-base percentage in each of his two seasons. Additionally, the ISU’s fielding percentage improved by 20 points. In 2007, Indiana State posted a team fielding percentage of .987. Hoop made his greatest impact at ISU in the very important role of recruiting. His first class featured 22 players covering five states including two former Major League draft picks. His second recruiting class included 15 players, three of which were drafted by professional organizations.

 

Prior to arriving in Terre Haute, Indiana, Hoop spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, S.C. While at CSU, Hoop helped rebuild a struggling Buccaneer program as his first recruiting class featured 28 newcomers. In two years, Hoop guided four players to all-conference accolades, while three players were honored with all-conference academic awards.

 

Hoop arrived at Charleston Southern in December of 2004 after spending a year and a half as an assistant at Porterville College in California. At Porterville, Hoop served as the recruiting coordinator taking on three players who were selected in the Major League Baseball Draft and four student-athletes that went on to sign with Division I schools during the fall signing period. He worked directly with the catchers, infielders and hitters.

 

During his time as an assistant coach, Hoop has coached more than 30 players that have gone on to play professional baseball including 5 current big league players.

 

Hoop lettered as a catcher for Marshalltown Community College, in his hometown of Marshalltown Iowa, where he led the team in batting average, hits and RBI’s. He was a student assistant at Iowa State University in the fall of 2000.

Eddie Hull

Eddie served as an assistant/hitting coach for the Carolina Vipers 2019 showcase team for the 2016 & 2017 seasons while completing his degree at UNC Charlotte.  Eddie currently serves as a Head Coach for the class of 2020 Five Star Vipers.

 

2016: Played in 24 games with a team-high 19 pinch-hit appearances and three starts … set new career-high with his two hits against William & Mary on February 20th … hit pinch-hit, two-run double against UAB in game two helped the Niners prevail 6-4 in the winner-take-all contest for the final Conference USA tournament berth … hit .250 going 6-for-24 in his plate appearances … hit .500 on the year with a runner at third and less than two outs.

 

2015: Appeared in 22 games this season mostly in a pinch-hit role as one of the first Niners off the bench late in games … pinch-hit in 18 of his 22 contests … hit .364 in 22 plate appearances, sporting a .438 average going 7-of-16 in his pinch-hitting opportunities … went 5-for-14 hitting .357 with a pair of runs scored in Conference USA action … made collegiate debut on February 22nd at home against Akron going 1-for-3 with a two-out RBI single … collected eight hits overall in 2015 with the RBI and three runs scored … first extra-base hit came in the form of a double against #15 Dallas Baptist on May 2nd … hit .329 against lefties at the plate, .375 leading off and .333 with two outs … named to Conference USA’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll … Athletic Director’s List (fall and spring).

 

Prep – Transferred to Charlotte after attending Louisburg College earning Dean’s List honors … played High School ball at nearby Charlotte Catholic for Head Coach Randy Belk … led the Cougars to three-straight MEGA-7 Conference Championships and three-straight appearance in the third round of the state tournament … hit .435 in his three-year letterman career at Charlotte Catholic … named the MEGA-7 Conference Player of the Year, member of the All-Charlotte Observer and All-State First Team as a senior … named a two-time All-MEGA 7 conference and All-South Charlotte Weekly team member.

Brad Correll

Mission Vipers Program Director

Brad played college baseball at nearby, Limestone College in Gaffney, SC.  Following the conclusion of his Junior year, Brad was selected in the 29th round of the Major League Draft by the Cincinnati Reds.  He capped off his 8 year minor league career with a .278 average and 89 home runs.

 

Brad is the Head Coach of the Mission Vipers 11U Gold team, as well as the Mission Vipers Youth Program Director

PREMIER BASEBALL ELECTS NEW OFFICERS

Premier Baseball elected new officers at its 2018 annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Jerry Daniels, one of the founding fathers of Premier Baseball, was elected President. Welcome back to Premier Baseball Jerry!!!!!!
